Ambassador Ertuğrul Apakan, first Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, received the Knight Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on 9 March 2020.
On 9 March 2020, Head of the German Permanent Mission to the OSCE, Ambassador Gesa Bräutigam, presented Ambassador Ertuğrul Apakan, first Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, with the Knight Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on behalf of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The Award was bestowed upon Amb. Apakan for his outstanding leadership in building up and enhancing the effectiveness of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.
